Saturday Style: Week 4

Hey there, Poptropicans!

It’s Happy Lobster, and welcome to AQoP’s Saturday Style! So, Inside Out’s costumes have all been completed here, so this time, we’re moving on to Harry Potter costumes, which most (should be all, though) of you would know about: a best-selling fantasy book series about the adventures of a young wizard of which the series has been named after.

From other Poptropica-based blogs, you may have already seen several costume renditions of some major characters from the series. But this time, AQoP will show you some costumes of characters that haven’t been in the spotlight so much, but still reasonably well-known.

And those are this week’s costumes; enjoy them! Two new Harry Potter costumes will be out next Saturday Style, so see you then!

Thursday Topping: Most Beautiful Scenes in Poptropica

Hey there, Poptropicans!

I’m Happy Lobster, and since Valentines’ is just round the corner, I’ve got a new Tuesday (or rather Thursday) Topping, suited for the occasion, for you to read, and (hopefully) enjoy. So, in the many calm – and some absolutely haywire – islands of Poptropica, some scenes look simply amazing and picturesque. In fact, there are many of these kind of scenes all around. Thus, I’ve selected the best five of these, the most beautiful of all beauty in Poptropica.

You should also note that these are solely-opinion based, so there’s no need to take it too seriously. And with that said, let’s pop straight into these art critiques!

#5: Woods Clearing, Monster Carnival Island

Quite a spooky scene. The colouring of the sky, the way that the trees have been twisted and shaded, sets for a rather eerie picture, though absolutely beautiful (though maybe it isn’t the best space for a picnic). The carnival folks transforming into hideous monsters can’t spoil this place.

#4: Imperial Garden & Basho’s Garden, Red Dragon Island

(Click on each of the images for a better view.)

Okay, so maybe these are two scenes. But both come from the same island, and have a very similar aesthetic, so I thought it best to place these two together as one point on the list.

Anyhow, in my opinion, these two scenes are certainly the most idyllic in Poptropica. With the all graceful plant life – most notably the cherry blossom trees – and the simple, but well-placed silhouettes, who would disagree that it doesn’t set a tranquil atmosphere?

#3: My Realms, Poptropica Realms

Based on Yggdrasil from Norse mythology, the tree containing all worlds, this scene may seem simple, but really, it is quite captivating. The minimal sky background, the way the colossal tree’s branches twist, and the shining bubbles containing enigmatic pinpricks of light all add up to its enthralling aesthetic.

#2: Sacred Tree, Twisted Thicket Island

Well, all of the woodlands of Twisted Thicket is remarkably beautiful. But this scene, in particular, is truly captivating. With the glowing flowers and woodland runes, to the patterns the ivy grows over the tree, and the superb background, this could be any enchanted forest from the oldest fairy tales.

#1: Binary Bard’s Dream, Super Villain Island

There’s not that much excessively beautiful to this picture; but that definitely excludes its background. A multicolored masterpiece of stars and space – coming here just to see this galactic sky is probably more worth it than obtaining the Astrolabe Totem.

And, on that note, that concludes this rather beautiful post. Feel free to share your thoughts via commenting below! 😉

The New World of Poptropica is coming…

Hey there, Clawtropicans! It’s me Purple Claw, and I’m here to share with some really important news that have to do with the mighty future of Poptropica. Please read the rest of this post for more details.

I was out in the snow for a few hours, and after that, I logged into Discord and received a notification from the Cacti Pop Chat (I swear TC didn’t pay me to advertise her server) and when I clicked on the icon of the server, I literally went crazy. Now, let me express the way I feel right now.

Yes, that’s me when I’m way to excited. Don’t judge me. Evil spirits shall rise upon you. Anyway, I almost forgot to mention what was the thing that made me so hyped up, and that thing is… THE POPTROPICA WORLDS!!

That’s pretty darn different than the Poptropica we know, right? I don’t know what to say about this, it’s both good and bad to me. I’m having mixed feelings right now and I don’t know if it’s going to be awesome or a complete disappointment. But we’ll just have to wait and see…

Anyway, the ”Poptropica Worlds” will release in Spring 2017 and the Creators say it’s going to be awesome! It better be, or else…! By the way, make sure check out the list below copy-pasted directly from the Creators’ blog for more details below. 😛

That’s right — only test dummies are allowed into Poptropica Worlds right now! Once the Poptropica Scientists — er, Creators — get the fun factor just right, Poptropica Worlds will be open for all Poptropicans to enjoy! Get ready for…

  • New, exciting Worlds to explore
  • Favorites from the original Poptropica, remastered for Poptropica Worlds
  • One account for everything Poptropica!

I don’t know what you think (well, at least not yet), but I’m super hyped about the future of Poptropica! I’d also really want to hear your thoughts, so make sure to tell me what you think in the comment section below! Thanks for having time to read this short post! That was Purple Claw, signing out ’til my next post!

Thursday Topping: Top 5 Poptropica MiniQuests

Hey there, Clawtropicans! It’s me Purple Claw, and I’m here to share with you an interesting top 5 list! Today, I’m going to be topping five of my favorite Poptropica MiniQuests. Anyway, if you didn’t know it yet, MiniQuests are special adventures not found on the island map! Now, let’s get started with the list, shall we? 😉

5. Haunted House

Step foot inside Poptropica’s creepiest creation – if you dare. In the darkest reachest of the Haunted House, you’ll find creepy critters, poltergeists, and painted portraits that watch your every move. Can you make it through the night without being scared out of your wits?

Even though this quest isn’t as spoopy as it sounds, it’s still worth giving it a shot! It’s the perfect way to spend the Halloween night, if you don’t like trick or treating. Why am I talking about Halloween anyway? Isn’t it, like, over? Anyway, there are so many things that make this MiniQuest awesome; the story, the design, the characters, and the gameplay were just terrific! If you beat the quest, you’ll get a Zombify gold card, that turns people into zombies! You’ll also have access to costumize everyone at the Ghoul’s Gala.

4. Shrink Shot

The object of the game is to bounce your miniaturized Poptropican around a room, causing as much mayhem as you can to rack up big points. Achieving high scores will earn you bonus powers that will help you score even more points! Can you unlock all of the upgrades and win the grand prize?

Reasons why I think this MiniQuest deserves to be on this list:

1) It’s creative;

2) The colors and graphics are great;

3) It’s so much fun!!

Yeah, I personally think that this quest deserves to be on this list! There are also tons of prizes you can earn by playing it!

3. Legendary Swords

On a distant planet, a hero explores a strange land to discover a race of aggressive and bizarre robots who are planning an invasion of Planet Poptropica! The only way the hero can stop this invading force is by using a series of hidden mystical swords that are scattered throughout the planet. Driven by courage (and a little fear), the hero must stop the invading robots and their diabolical master; the mysterious E. Vile!

This MiniQuest had to appear somewhere on this list! You got to admit: It’s amazing! I love the story, the characters, the graphics, the swords, the evil robutts (wink wink) and E.Vile! Everything was incredible! I have nothing else to say about this wonderful MiniQuest.

2. DC Diner

Poptropicans are all getting ready to board the train to the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893! Before they hop on the train, they want to grab a quick bite to eat at the D.C. Diner!

I’m sure many of you haven’t even heard about this one before – and I hadn’t either ’til I started writing this post! I found it out on Poptrickia, a blog with interesting tips ‘n’ tricks. So, basically, you just take orders from random people and then you have to serve them what they want. It’s a really cute minigame and had a super fun time playing it!

1. Blimp Adventure

Travel to the edges of Poptropica and beyond with your own inflatable, 30-inch Poptropica blimp. Players who get the Poptropica blimp will unlock an exclusive in-game adventure!

This might seem odd, but I actually loved this MiniQuest! It was just so much fun! Those five levels of fire shutting were five super awesome terrific adventurus levels, at least for me. I loved the villain, the story, the backgrounds, in other words, I loved everything!

Going Back in Time: January’s IotMs

Hey there, Poptropicans!

It’s Happy Lobster here. So, a new month is kicking in, and what does that mean? Yet another month for the community to moan and groan about the overdue New Pop? Well, possibly, for those who feel like doing so … but it’s also time for another set of Islands of the Month!

The islands featured this January are Time Tangled Island and Arabian Nights. Looks like the Creators want us to visit some islands submerged in the past this time around.

As per usual with IotMs, Poptropica gives out the usual amount of extra credits for finishing IotMs: first-time finishers receive 500 credits for completing the islands in question, and repeat finishers receive 300 credits.

But Arabian Nights is not an normal island – it consists of three seperate episodes. So, how will the credits be distributed for finishers? Like for one of December’s IotMs, PoptropiCon (another episodic island), each episode gives out 500 and 300 credits for first-time finishers and re-players, respectively. So if you complete each episode for the first time, you can receive 1,500 credits! It’s about time you were rolling in credits.

Need help completing these islands? Well, Captain Crawfish has some video walkthroughs prepared for Arabian Nights, and is working on one for Time Tangled.

If you want written walkthroughs to assist you, you can always read the PHB’s guides to Time Tangled Island and Arabian Nights.

Well, that’s all for January’s IotMs. Make sure to hurry and earn those extra credits this month!

Behind the Scenes: Wimpy Wonderland Animations

Hey there, Clawtropicans! Purple Claw here! I’m here to share with you some behind the scenes info posted by Skinny Moon on the Creators’ blog yesterday. Before I start, I wanted to wish y’all a happy new year! Now, let’s get started right away!

Wimpy Wonderland on Poptropica.jpg

I’m pretty sure you know that Wimpy Wonderland was one of December’s IofM, but, since it’s a members only island, and it’s a pretty cool one too, the creators announced that everyone can still play it through 1/2/17 (and you’ll get the bonus credits too)! So, if you haven’t played this awesome island yet, make sure to do that, because it’s awesome!

Anyway, let’s take a look at the sneak peaks, shall we?

Check out these notes on Manny’s design! It looks like it took longer than expected to design that naughty kid! (By the way, click here to make this image bigger)

Anyway, to view the animations, check out the post on the Creators’ blog, by clicking right here.

Well, that’s it for now, thanks for reading this short post!😀 What a wimpy way to start this year! Do you agree?😛

Sunday Stories: The New Tribe (Part 3)

Hey there, Poptropicans! It’s Happy Lobster here, presenting you the penultimate part of The New Tribe – a fan-fiction featuring Sarah Snooty and the Poptropolis Host in the Poptropolis Games. Make sure to catch up of the first two parts of the story if you haven’t already.

Without further ado, let’s begin!

The athletes go into a small room away from the centre of the stadium to take their shoes off for Volleyball, just like they did for Diving. As soon as they all enter the room, away from the crowd’s attention, Shaky Skunk turns to Snooty and says, ‘Um, Snooty, how did you manage to win all of those events like that? I’m surprised you didn’t trip over the starting line in Hurdles, let alone fail every single sport.’ Sarah sniffs and says, ‘Oh, honey, please don’t burst your puny head about it. I’m just too good for y’all. Admit it.’ Sarah turns over to Silver Tornado. ‘Uh, loser your costume is so drab. Who’d put such an ugly costume? Erk. You could totally learn some fashion tips from yours truly! You so need it.’ A few people start to mutter under their breaths about ST’s nice costumes and Sarah’s awful ones, Sarah raises her hands and says, ‘Hey little toads. You’re so stupid. Of course I was always going to beat you! I’m the best, and you’re the most weak little beings on Poptropica. As everyone starts to shout at her, a foghorn bellows, meaning that the athletes must head over to Volleyball.

The athletes and I head over to the Volleyball pond, where the Volleyball octopus is waiting. But as I go and stand at the edge of the pond, I notice a dark shape out of the corner of my eye. I turn to my right, and half-concealed behind a large thicket is a figure shrouded in shadows cast by the tree behind it, so I have no idea what – or who – it is. I walk over to it, and positively jumps up five metre with alarm and speeds away. I notice distinguishable arms and legs, so it must be a person. I run after this person, but he/she disappeared. But meh, it was probably just a spectator who wanted to get really close to the action. I then go back to the Volleyball pond, and I immediately cursed under my breath. The octopus’ tentacles flop limply on the surface of the water. Its head submerges just very slightly to the surface, and if its expression says anything, it’s that it’s sick, with his orange head having the slightest of a green tinge, and its eyes rolled, but I get a feeling it isn’t from sarcasm. That mysterious figure must have done something to the octopus. Nonetheless, we can’t cancel a game in Poptropolis because of this. I turn to the line of athletes, and I shout: ‘First up, begin!’

Of course, Sarah Snooty had to be first. She strutted inside the pond and threw the ball at the octopus. I was surprised how she threw it – considering how well she’d done in the other events, she was just horrible. But the octopus was so ill, he flopped one of his arms two centimetres, but he didn’t try to even touch the ball, let alone toss it back. The game went for about fifteen seconds, and Snooty ended up winning five – nil. But as soon as Lucky Joker stepped into the pond for his turn, the octopus literally flashed exactly like someone turning a light on and off repetitively, and then he looked perfectly back to normal. In fact, he seemed even more hyper than usual. And with that, alas, Lucky Joker – and pretty much everyone else – lost to the octopus five – nil. The crowd booed. About a quarter of them stormed off with shouts like: ‘These games are so biased’, ‘Snootypoopy (nice name, btw) won every event! Boooo!’, ‘What’s the point of paying to watch these Games if the same person wins every event by the furthest margin possible?!’

I gnashed my teeth. Sarah Snooty had come first by far in every single event, and therefore, she came in first for Poptropolis. I really wished I got the chance to toss her into the Poptropolis Flame. But I have to do my role as the host in Poptropolis, or Comic Kid would kick me off Poptropolis, and replace me with some lunatic who wouldn’t know how to do my job. I head up to the marble stage where the Archer and the Raking board are. I take a deep breath, and say loudly to the crowd, ‘In the Poptropolis Games, there can be only one winner. I present to you the grand idiot – um, I mean champion – of Poptropica … Sarahsnootin -’

And ending on that note, Part 3 of The New Tribe concludes. Make sure to tune in next time for the thrilling climax of the story on Sunday Stories.

Monday Monitors: Poptropica Realms

Hey there, Poptropicans! It’s me Purple Claw here, with a Monday Monitor special! As you saw in the title (or the graphic below) I will be reviewing the ”Poptropica Realms”. I would be really surprised if you don’t know what Realms is, but if you never played it before, click here to learn more! Now let’s get started, shall we?😛

Basic Info

A journey of infinite discovery awaits you in Poptropica Realms. Create a brand-new world, and then use the power of Svadilfari to shape it into any form you can dream. Explore randomly generated terrain. Meet strange creatures. Build never-before-seen structures. Then share your creations with the world! In Poptropica Realms, the only limit is your imagination!

The Poptropica Realms is a super fun Poptropica bonus. It’s like Minecraft, because you can create and destroy things. There are also different biomes you can explore. Your choices are: Forest, ice, desert, swamp, lunar, fire, crystal.

To create stuff, you mine the ground to find Poptanium. You can spend Poptanium to create different things. Have you collected enough info about Realms? If you do, read more below. If not, try playing Poptropica Realms yourself.😉

(Pst, check out this theory I made about the Poptropica Realms back on June, after reading the whole review. Enjoy!)

Storyline & Characters

After clicking on the realm icon on the map, you’ll land of a forest and your Poptropican will say ”What is this place?”. Our Poptropicans must learn how not to talk to themselves, that will ruin their reputations.😄

Anyway, just go to your right, and enter the ancient castle (that’s on your right too), and then jump on the marble stones, and you’ll fall.😛 Then, climb the rope on your right. There you will find a majestic hammer shinning and flying above an old anvil. Just go and grab it! Finders-keepers!

After taking the hammer, a ghost will appear! No worries, it’s a good ghost (probably) and will tell you a few things about that glorious hammer. Just listen to him carefully and then ask him the questions listed when clicking on him, so you can more stuff about the hammer!

After that, you can explore as much as you want!

On your journey, you will find some evil creatures known as Twilight Pixies. They might seem adorable, but all they want is to steal your precious Poptanium crystals. You will also find creatures that look like monsters, but they are actually harmless. You can feed them, and they mine the ground, to get you Poptanium. Beware through: The creatures with red eyes, and angry faces are mean monsters that probably had a bad day, so they want to rant on YOU by hurting you!

There are lots of amazing features within Poptropica Realms, but let’s start with the basics. Click on the button that looks like a question mark on the right corner of the screen, and then a help panel will pop up. The help panel looks like this:

Got it?

To create a realm just click on the realms menu, then click on a magical orb, and then you can use the realm type you want, its size, and its name. You can also share your realm so other players can see it, if you are a member!

Besides creating and destroying, your hammer can also perform special tricks, like: Ground Pound (unlocked at level 5), Hammerang (unlocked at level 10) and Super Jump (unlocked at level 15 along with the ”Master Creator” outfit).

You can also visit other people’s realms by clicking ”Public Realms” on the realms menu. There are many creative people out there!

As I said before, there are different types of biomes on Realms. There’s the forest biome, the ice biome, the desert biome, the swamp biome, the lunar biome, the crystal biome, and the fire biome. All these biomes are amazing, they have incredible backgrounds, their graphic designs are awesome, and I freaking love it when the sun goes down; such beauty!

See what I mean?😛

Each realm biome has its own soundtrack! No kidding! And I personally love all of them! My favorite one has to be the ice boime’s soundtrack.! I would totally share all of them here, but I need the paid version of, unfortunately.😦

The time is here, my friends. I give Realms a…

…4/5 Realm Hammers!

Final Thoughts

Realms is pretty great, but it isn’t perfect. There are still tons of bugs that need to be fixed. The angry monsters are way to creepy (even creepier than Zeus’ face), and I would really appreciate a better backstory.  Also, the crystal and fire biomes are members only, and that’s such a bummer.😦

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! If you wanna see more of these, please show your support by commenting and liking our posts!🙂
